Are you looking for something new to do on a week-night? Have you ever wondered how theatre is made? How can light and sound create whole worlds on stage? How does a director inspire an actor to give the performance of a lifetime?

If you’re aged 14 - 19 and you want to explore the world of theatre and express your own creativity, then the Royal Exchange Theatre has a group for you. Work with professional theatre mentors to explore how you can use your words, your voice, and your imagination to tell stories on stage.  

The Young People’s Theatre Workshop (YPTW) is divided into two phases. PHASE ONE begins in September 2010, with four groups giving you the opportunity to explore the world of Theatre and express your own creativity. The young people who join these groups will be given the opportunity to apply for PHASE TWO of the YPTW project: From January 2011 a group of young directors, designers, writers and performers will come together to create their own very own piece of theatre in The Studio.

Places on all of the groups will be available from Monday 26 July. To book your place please call the Theatre’s Box Office on 0161 833 9833. Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
